I'm bad about leaf raking
There are two kinds of people: the ones who who rake their leaves promptly and the ones who don't. I'm sorry to say I'm one of the latter.
I've never gotten into the habit because it has taken soooo long for our trees to get big enough to drop enough leaves to rake. They're there now, and it was just beautiful last week—colorful leaves, warm sunny weather, just enough breeze to shake the leaves out of the trees and float them down to ground.
But I've been busy, and now it's cold, windy, and wet. Our neighbors spent hours today cleaning up their leaves along with all of ours that blew over there. I felt guilty about not doing the same, but I don't like to work outside when it's cold and windy. Most of all, I only like to work in the yard when it's sunny. After all, my main motivation for gardening is to have an excuse to be outdoors during nice weather.
The sun has peeked out every once in a while this afternoon, but every time I've put my coat on and found my sunglasses and gloves it's disappeared again. So I hope the neighbors will forgive me if I wait for nice weather to rake our front yard. I'll try to get to it before any more of our leaves blow over there.
