Maybe it's just me, but spring seems to be taking
forever to get here this year. Trader Joe's daffodils are helping me get by. For $1.29, you get ten stems just ready to open. Stick them in some water, and it's instant spring! They're worth every cent, even though they've raised the price since last year.
UPDATE 3/29/08: Buyer beware! I have bought two more bunches since the one in the photo, and the flowers have dried up before they opened all the way. I think the key is to buy them before any of the buds have opened.
Way to go, Laurie. It's sort of like a public diary. Love the color, the photos, the reference to Mom, and all the rest. I will definitely be subscribing, but will be nervous to write anything to post because I don't have your talent!
